A Brief Biography
- 1968: Born in Long Island, New York.
- 1991: Graduated Johns Hopkins University, BS Computer Science
- 1994: Returned from Kobe, Japan after working as the first foreign engineer in 17 years in a factory of 4,700+ for Mitsubishi Electric, speaking rusty Kansai-ben.
- 1998: Co-founded LinuxCare, the world's largest Open Source services company. Funded by Kleiner Perkins.
- 2004: Founded Technorati, the world's leading weblog search engine, bringing real-time search to everyone.
- 2007: Named Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland
- 2008: Founded Offbeat Guides, the first on-demand personalized travel guide for over 50,000 destinations
- 2010: Began advising and investing in companies, including Mozilla, Causes, Xola, and Readme, among others.
